Fans Call for Arrest of Man Who Touched Ariana Grande
Passionate supporters of the actress are calling for that a individual who jumped a fence and seized the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or deported from Singapore.
A viral video depicts the Australian man pushing past photographers and rushing toward Grande while the performers walked down a promenade surrounded by onlookers.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the gathering by security officers.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being detained", though official papers revealed that he was set to appear on the following morning. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.
History of Incidents
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a performance. His Instagram feed contains recordings of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last winter.
"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is evidently a punishable act," commented an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user remarked.
Supporters Voice Worry Over Ariana's Safety
Numerous supporters accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing PTSD after a devastating incident at the end of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding many.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said a further message on Instagram.
Several supporters also questioned guards at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while others requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's uploads.
Response and Premiere Information
In clips shared widely, Grande appeared surprised when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.
Grande has not commented on the situation, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.
Numerous of fans had assembled in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it started.
