Netflix Chooses Spot-On Actor for Mr. 2 in One Piece Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is set to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The platform declared Tuesday that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Mr. 2. The role has the ability to morph into an perfect replica of any individual they’ve touched with their main hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that role reimagined as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag queen, in the live-action show, differing from the original manga and cartoon version.
This performer is joined by a number of fresh additions tasked with bringing the organization to reality, such as head Mr. 0, played by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Even though Bon Clay is a important part of the group, the persona won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Given the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this signals a significant shift in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal additional alterations to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the role. Along with their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.
Netflix's live-action One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10, 2026.
