New Particulars Surface Regarding the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies
Recent details have emerged regarding the tragic passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.
A Discovery
As detailed in an account referencing a person close to the family, a practitioner arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after not being able to enter the home. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.
After gaining access to the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Charges
The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is now being held and is ineligible for bail.
Correcting the Record
The confidential informant challenged several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.
The source also disputed published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction also extends to descriptions of alleged "erratic" behavior by Nick at a event held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Although the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "heated argument" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Details
Per law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some media reports suggested the state of their bodies implied they had been deceased for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the residence. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
