The rugby star earned 20 caps for the Kiwis before transferring allegiance to Samoa.

The NRL's authority has stated that participants who enter the “rebel” R360 will be banned for a decade.

The new league, which plans to launch in October 2026, is aiming to attract athletes from both codes with hefty contracts and a condensed playing schedule.

Leading rugby league stars have allegedly been contacted by the new league, which will feature six to eight men's clubs and four women's teams based in large metropolitan areas around the world.

Representing Samoa the player, who plays for his NRL club in the NRL, has stated he has had negotiations involving the new organization.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, Zac Lomax, Payne Haas and Jye Gray are also reported to be considering joining R360.

Several leading union countries, such as Australia, recently announced a restriction on players joining R360 appearing in test matches.

“We heard our teams and we've taken firm action,” commented the league's chief the official.

“Unfortunately, there will always be entities that try to exploit our sport for economic benefit.

“They fail to contribute in talent pipelines or the growth of players. They merely capitalize on the hard work of other organizations, endangering athletes of monetary damage while gaining personally.

“In truth, they represent, imitating the sport.”

The organization is co-founded by former England World Cup winner Mike Tindall and funded by independent financiers.

Subsequent to the prospective rugby union prohibitions were declared earlier, it commented: “We want to work collaboratively as a component of the international rugby schedule.

“The series is arranged with tailored timetables for men's and women's teams and the organization will permit participants for test matches, as written into their deals.”

The new league will apply for endorsement for its proposals from the international authority, the sport's regulatory group, at its official gathering next year.
