Nearly 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the state, bringing wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.

Homeowners observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Emergency response teams responded to 598 calls for help across the region, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both areas.
